SEASONS

SEASONS

A Poem by Shabeeh Haider

Can seasons be ruled by your mood?
You laugh at times, at times you brood.

Your loving look makes flowers bloom,
One smile from you drives away gloom.

Each time a tear falls from your eye,
Black clouds appear, the heavens’ cry.

You turn away and autumn’s here,
The garden’s bare, leaves disappear.

Your soft caress has made me greet,
 In cold December, summer’s heat.

Beautiful poem.
Love is a strong emotion, it is as strong as to drive the life.
Well penned piece. Lovely.

PS: I feel that the exclamation mark at the end is kind of ruining the otherwise beautiful, serene flow. Maybe one can be removed for better effect.

Ah, clever :) I believe a mood can indeed alter a season with such in mind...to adore is to know such ebbs and flows...lovely :)

Yes seasons do change your mood. most countries with less summer are more depressed because sun makes people happy... great poem

Danai, I am glad you agree that seasons can change ones mood
Amazed to see how you compared seasons with the mood of humans. Humans are mostly influenced by 'what state they are in', in that specific moment. The way you retained the flow of the poem is impressive as well. The way we behave in our surrounding greatly depends on mood. And you did awesome work here to show how this unnoticed aspect of our life represents our life life in front of others.

Usman, thank you for your wonderful feed back
Great couplets. Yes, the person you love can change the seasons when her/his mood changes. No matter what the weather outside, if the one you love is smiling and happy, you feel like springtime. Lydi**

Lydi, thank you for your supportive review
Amazing poem there. You start with spring and summer, then you turn to the monsoon, then you talk of the autumn and finally you talk of the winter. Each season has been described well.
And, the last lines are excellent- rather, the last couplet is excellent.
Very well-written. Keep writing!
