SEASONS

SEASONS

A Poem by Shabeeh Haider

Can seasons be ruled by your mood?
You laugh at times, at times you brood.

Your loving look makes flowers bloom,
One smile from you drives away gloom.

Each time a tear falls from your eye,
Black clouds appear, the heavens’ cry.

You turn away and autumn’s here,
The garden’s bare, leaves disappear.

Your soft caress has made me greet,
 In cold December, summer’s heat.

Beautiful poem.
Love is a strong emotion, it is as strong as to drive the life.
Well penned piece. Lovely.

PS: I feel that the exclamation mark at the end is kind of ruining the otherwise beautiful, serene flow. Maybe one can be removed for better effect.

Ive for the first time seen such an intelligent comparison of seasons with one's mood. Today my literal season is clear sky and so is the real.
" In cold December, summer’s heat."
Excellent!

Shabeeh Haider,
"SEASONS"
The opening question; "Can seasons be ruled by your mood." Oh Yes! Our hearts are true and honest to our own season.
You named well the seasons within our lives; "Your loving look makes flowers bloom" and "A tear falls from your eye, black clouds appear, The heavens cry"
So fitting to our need for interaction with others and the coinciding emotion.
Blessings,
Kathy

There are those who may rule every season of our world as you say with such clarity. I especially like your ending couplet as the cold of December becomes like the heat of summer. 'Tis a season not soon forgotten!

I am glad you enjoyed it, Adroaldo
I just love your poetry. It reminds me of the works of great artists like Gulistan-e-Saadi.

You humble me with your very kind words.
Being a very moody person, I can relate to this poem very much. I remember back in the day when I was young & had many suitors, my moods would affect them greatly, just as you're describing. Nowadays, I try to be less up-and-down, but the moods still rule to a certain degree. I especially love the way you use scenes from nature to signify the ups & downs. Very well-selected analogies thru-out.

I kind of feel sorry for those suitors who were at the mercy of the moods of the fair damsel. :) read more
