Our Love Story

The job was done, 

Things were in place, 

Earth created, 

And so was Space.

Man was scattered, 

Throughout the Land,

And paths were made

Along the sand.

Clouds were adorned,

Up in the sky, 

And places made 

For birds to fly. 

The sea was made, 

For plants and fish. 

The stars were placed 

To make a wish. 

The souls that were, 

Up in the sky. 

Were placed in man,

Till he would die. . . . 

One soul somehow 

Was split in two, 

One half was me, 

The other, you. 

Two bodies lived, 

Though unaware, 

The other half 

Would be somewhere.

Though they have lived, 

So far away, 

The souls had known, 

They’d meet one day. 

And when they met, 

Both of them knew, 

They had been one, 

This fact was true. 

Now together, 

Their days are fun. 

For weren’t they, 

Meant to be ONE.

A love story from the beginning in the creation of the world and all that was in it and how two souls meant to be as one from that time came to be as it was meant to be; soulmates brought together as part of a foretold plan. Excellent rhyme and rhythm make your words a joy to read! I especially like the lines that speak of one soul split in two much as one would gift birth to the other.
