AliveA Poem by ShAbALIVEThe night remains calm, despite the shattering bulbs in the neighborhood or the call of the dogs in grief.Sleeping besides a dream that is bleeding, and watching the blood trickle my flesh, begging me to join its portal, I move aside. Misty remains of saline water, lay frozen numb all around me, and I remain, Alive. I pick up the ashes, and blow them away, yet they char on my body, you were here again, Unwilling to surrender. Stared down by the wall, that moves around in circles, and I lay rooted, with static legs, in the crutches of air. The water flows out,you return, unscathed, defiant as you plunder me in your depths, but I swim ashore, Alive. The scars, they burn an image of you, my veins scamper out in pain, and no ailment could heal this wound. I crumble onto my knees, clutch the ground with my nails, and grind my teeth, in a frenzy I shout, 'I am Alive'. Silence greets me, the glass breaks again, and dogs bark louder, the graves were open, and the leaves were buried. The night was over, and I lay, Alive. © 2012 ShAbReviews
