I Did Something..

I Did Something..

A Poem by ShAb
"

A plethora of emotions.

"

I did something.

... I couldn't recall.

As the sun shrunk its little body, and the canvas was painted crimson,

I could see a dreary dark shadow, crawling underneath the tainted walls.

Whether the tincture took to effect, or an hour without the sun caress,

the little stains in between my fingers bore an agonizing look of red.

Assured, as the little white cigarette greeted the dried skin of my lips,

And evolved clouds that formed beautiful images that faded slowly.

There was a gasp, an almost inaudible tone of melancholy that swept,

The myriad emotions suddenly turned to ashes, as the tip was now jaded.

The red grew a little darker, as cigarette’s lit and the smoke filled me,

Voices, incriminated inside me, I was slightly perturbed, but stool calm.

The hollow ends of sanity were slowly closing in, as the night beckoned,

Inching painfully, the sun, now merely a remnant of the maroon bed.

I did something, and then it struck me, as my last cigarette bid farewell,

And as it fell down, it trickled with a tiny little drop that matched the sky.

Cascade of drops then blended, each carrying a memory so forlorn,

Until it warmed a big pool of what was gone, and with it the night arrived.

The small edge of a blade embraced the sky,

The rest, I could not recall.
