Drops of Blood

The wrist bleeds,
With each drop of blood-
there's a memory etched deep,
deeper than this penetration of knife.

Falling first-
The blood of betrayal,
a painful drop of red falls,
enticing this blade to terminate this life.

The Next drop-
bore The blood of insult,
of laughing faces,of grimacing eyes,
unmatched was I to their superior creed.

Could see a tiny drop-
blood of my little happiness,
sparkled like a ruby,dropping gem,
smile crawled my pale face, this joy was freed.

Came next-
was a very lonely drop,
Which fell at distance from the pool,
It evaporated, a drop like me was left bereft.

A sudden burst-
a dark red drop descended,
of the anger that subsided within,
the most pain was felt in my body as it left.

A final drop I saw-
before my eyes decided to close,
it was the drop of hope, purer than any,
a hope that had lived fighting for so long.

I ascended-,
the weight inside me diminished,
my hands lay numb, the blood frozen,
I left for a place without these feelings-I belong.

This is an amazingly powerful poem of suffering, rejection, humiliation, a little happiness and hope wrapped and tied beautifully yet painfully in the responsibility of community for the process of acceptance of every single life! What hit hardest was:
The Next drop-
bore The blood of insult,
of laughing faces,of grimacing eyes,
unmatched was I to their superior creed.
And then:
A final drop I saw-
before my eyes decided to close,
it was the drop of hope, purer than any,
a hope that had lived fighting for so long.

Great work!
