"Fear Me"

"Fear Me"

A Poem by Sgt.Sparks
"

a poem about darkness

"

You fear me,
I will now insist.
Do not deny it,
I know it exists.

What am I to you?
If you know nothing of me.
While ignorance may hide truth,
You will learn that knowledge is key.

I am the subject of men’s nightmares,
Sinister tidings for those who listen
I’m a friend of the shadows, an ally of despair,
When the sun does leave, it is the night I chrisen.

You build your fires, to beat me away.
And for a moment I am defeated.
Fire’s glow may however betray.
That I am not easily unseated.

Do not fear me, I have my right
And this I hope you have learned.
For to appreciate the day, you must have the night
To realize what you’ve earned.
