Heartless

Heartless

A Poem by Seyi Ojenike

Mind set
You thumb my beating core
Of magnitude
Into much cacophony
Oblivious of my fragile state
And yet playing the dolt
While I paint scenes upon scenes
Of blissful matrimony
Now that  wedding bells no longer jingle
In my ears
I must make an obeisance
To the player of the marionette.
For all the dreams
Of how life would be like
All the hopes
Of the best things in life
... a waste
At this Ponder...
Why lead me this far,
When the eye lids will pull back
As I bend?
Why swing your waist to the rhythm,
If your nerves arouse no dance.
