No Vacancy For Love

No Vacancy For Love

A Poem by Seyi Ojenike

I wrote a poem for you,
But I tossed it away.
In it I spoke of you
With no hint that it would never stay.

The feelings in me were very true
Contaminating and spreading like a flu.

In the streets the hustlers try to survive
Everyday a new opportunity
So also I tried to keep this love alive.
All ended with a sad look of pity.

Right now I must be excused from such
My poor heart has suffered much

On many faces hearts seems to be shut
Must be a vortex of unpleasant event
That had them from the outside world cut
And left broken hearts to further displacement

Now no vacancy for love
Temporary or not, for now I shove.
