Belong in Your Sweet World

Belong in Your Sweet World

A Poem by Katy D.

If the world stopped

And the beating of storms tore our clothes off

Would you take me wake me in case we

Have a spark left of life then

Would you like me?

Could you write me?

And it’s funny

How it takes the apocalypse to bring this

Because “I won’t” and “I can’t” still ringing

So now’s the time for some risking

Would you like me?

Could you write me?

As I pull the shades of guise

As I look you in the eyes

I will try to find a chord

To belong in your sweet world

Unless you'd rather hear hers...

If I find out

That you’ve bestowed a b***h to belong with

I will make you wish you could take back

All the lies she spawned as we kept track

Do you f**k that?

Do you want that?

And it’s funny

How we all know the w***e’s gonna make your

Life a burning core for her sick will

And as you love her we hope she’ll…

Can you hear me?

Or is it she?

Still?

As I pull the shades today

As you're bound to be encaged

I will try to find a chord

To belong in your sweet world

As a heart of stone erodes

As foreseen events unfold

It's because I could not rage

To your face and not the page:

I want your nights weaved with mine

Falling from his frame

So the girl so plain

Knows how, what's done now

Displaced from all this

They move in to kiss

As facades form from remains

As true feelings rearrange

I will try to find a chord

To belong in your sweet world

If I pause to say your name

If I claim that I’m insane

It’s because the speeches lie

Of all those words I can’t say

I want to belong in your life
