Words

Just my opinion.

Words are used daily,
they are used so much,
that many have lost meaning,
such as "love" and "hate"

What if words had limits?
Would you carefully choose what you say?
Would you try to save special words for special occasions?
Or would you continue to waste them like you do now?

Would you only say "I love you" when you truly meant it?
Would you only use kind words?
Or would you also use hateful ones?
Would you try to learn more words,
or just live with what you know?

So words are special,
even if they aren't yet limitless,
be careful what you say,
because words can heal like medicine,
or break someone's spirit like a brick breaks a bone.

Well, a rather original and thought-provoking piece of writing. In structure, this may have been better in essay format, perhaps? Even so, it is a good summary of how our English language is gradually being undermined (and not always on purpose). In particular, certain words seem to have lost their power in colloquial speech (such as "love" and "hate"). Indeed, these days, far too many people (especially the young) seem to swear - rather than make better use of our beautiful language. Another focus of this piece, is that it attempts to remind us that words can be used for so many different purposes? For example, that they can have a healing influence or express love? Great writing, and insightful! Thankyou, Alex!

i partly agree but partly don't...
some people needs to be told how much they meant to us or and some don't.
it's a matter of who is the person...other than that this was a good read n consideration...
