Scared

Scared

A Story by AchingAlexandra

I'm scared. I want to come out to my family and tell them about my REAL sexuality. they think I'm straight, but I'm not, not really. I'm pansexual. To those who don't know what it means, it means I like people for who they actually are, not for age, gender, race, anything physical, they can be ugly, but depending on if I actually love them, they are beautiful to me.
I can't come out to my family though. My closest brother even told me if I turned out to be lesbian or bisexual or anything, that he would feel weird around me.
So I want to tell them, but I'm scared....

I have a best friend who is pansexual, and believe me, it is hard for people to understand. But honey, they are your family. Even if they get angry and do not understand at first, or even at all, they will come around because they love you. You should not be afraid because you are who you are and you cannot change it. Letting it out, regardless of what happens, will like "Evelen" said, you will feel better for doing so. If you ever need to talk, let me know. I will be there.

I know how you feel. I come from a really conservative family, and telling them I was gay was the hardest thing I had to do. I wish you the best of luck, and hope all the community support you're getting here helps!

I would tell.. If they dont like it then tell them to deal

Liking people for who they "actually are", is simply another way of saying that you like their personalities and respect their inidividuality. Sex should not be relevant, when forming opinions about somebody's character.

I think if they are your family then they would understand. It's not like they can change how you feel on things when you really feel that way. They should support you, and you will probably feel better after telling them.
