Through This Hell

Through This Hell

A Poem by Seventh Fallen

I love you has kept me away far too long

Dreaming about you, in the desert sun

The only shadow is for them I’ve pledged

Our flag held high, the only sight in the sky

The dust on my face doesn’t help forget home

Reminds me of days I wasn’t out here, away from you

But we’ll keep pushing, until we’ve won

My reasons aren’t forgotten, I will come back home

And I know Heaven is not far away

It’s the smile on your face I see, you’re with me everyday

And as we keep on pushing, I find it’s harder on myself

But know that I’ll come back to you, even through this hell

Dust and guns, they become our new beds

Survival, the only thing we know that pounds in our heads

Tears aren’t expected, but we don’t care if they’re shown

Stare at pictures in our helms, before we strap them on

I find myself losing track of the days

But I look at that shadow and I know I’m part of something

When I finally get to you I hope that you don’t care

But I want that shadow to protect us when I get there

And I know Heaven is not far away

It’s the smile on your face I see, you’re with me everyday

And as we keep on pushing, I find it’s harder on myself

But know that I’ll come back to you, even through this hell
