Flames in the Sky

Flames in the Sky

A Poem by Seventh Fallen

Your tears are falling

Just like ash

From the mouth of mountain

Your eyes like glass

Your hands they tremble

Fight with your will

It feels like an earthquake

Splitting my fingernails

Stare at the sun

And calm yourself

Breathe in deeply

Like you’re with somebody else

Stare at the son

And calm yourself

Whisper to me

Take a seat

I’m going to sit back

And watch the world end

Ask the flames in the sky

How it all ends

Then look at you

Holding my hand

Since we’re going down together

May as well enjoy the end

Your words are crushing

Like an avalanche

The sting on your lips

Against my own ears

You’re breathing quickly

Just to get a breath

That can fill up your lungs

As they collapse

Stare at the sun

And calm yourself

Breathe in deeply

Like you’re with somebody else

Stare at the son

And calm yourself

Whisper to me

Ask if I still believe

I’m going to sit back

And watch the world end

Ask the flames in the sky

How it all ends

Then look at you

Holding my hand

Since we’re going down together

May as well enjoy the end

I enjoyed the multiple levels of anguish in this piece. The imagery was fantastic, I felt like I was there. I felt the heat on this one. Well done!
