The Life Of A Seventeen Year Old

The Life Of A Seventeen Year Old

A Poem by SeventeenPoet

She's numb

Too numb....

She couldn't say

What she wants to say

The pressure of knowing

She has to achieve

The highest of the highest

Because of the expectations

She has to be number one

To be pushed so hard

It's not what she wants

Her own dreams to be put aside

"You're stupid" he says,

"You're fat" she says,

"You're worthless" they say,

"You're nothing" I say.

So many problems

So many critics

Judging and saying

What a messed up society.

This is unfortunely so true, seventeen is such a difficult age for it is the year before one's life compeletly changes forever. Excellent poem and keep writing! :)
