Sleeping Snakes

Sleeping Snakes

A Poem by Isabel Sarie

I live another day

watching all these snakes sleep

all these liars, all these criminals

that watch me while I weep

I cry another tear

knowing that one may be near

could it be the one who killed her?

could be it the one to kill me?

How can I live in a world

knowing all these snakes are sleeping

soundly, and perfectly

fore when they wake they'll make more weep

they are the ones who kill

they are the ones who fight

they are the ones who hurt

I shiver at their very sight
