Chalk

Chalk/Magnesium Carbonate/ A Climbers Best Friend

Chalk will be with you till the very end

It looks like flour but helps climbers climb towers

It drys out hands

It helps scan all the lands

Why is chalk so great?

Maybe because when I climb a rock wall, it determines fate

Without it I could slip, fall, fall, and fall

Fall like autumn leaves

Without it, the holds would take my grip like little thieves

When I’m standing on top of a spire

I look at Edmund Hillary and he tells me  “This is easy, don’t tire”

That's easy for you to say sir, you climbed Everest, that's a mountain.

So I grab a penny from my pocket and toss it into a wishing fountain

Climbing is more skill than luck

But if I don’t use chalk, I’ll fall, and that’ll suck.

This isn't a writing that's meant to be critical. I wrote it for laughs and for fun.
