The Usual PlaceA Poem by Eryn ♪
The light glints off the sign,
Of an quiet coffee shop, It's neon glow lights up, An empty street. The rain pours past, The window of the place, Were we sat many a days, Just staring out at the world. In this usual place I now sit, Watching, Waiting, For something to happen. For this place has, A history of unusual things, And spectacular sunsets, That soak up the blue sky days. I close my eyes and feel, The summer heat, A warm rain that beckons, To my soul. My hot chocolate sits, Untouched and cold, With cooling cookies, Waiting. The bell rings over the door, And I smile, For you are here, And we tell tales long into the night. © 2014 Eryn ♪ |
