Koi

A Poem by Eryn ♪

Splish Splish
They graze the surface,
For only a moment,
Before slipping back,
Under the looking glass.

Too and Fro,
The move in fluid motion,
Becoming fluid,
Like waves,
Shimmering and reflecting.

Ripples gather,
under the falling petals,
Of the sakura tree,
The effect growing,
Enticing us to grow also.

Up one comes,
Tail propelling it,
Closer,
Ever closer,
To my outstretched hand.

Break the surface,
It's flowing fins following after,
Softly it comes,
To a rest against,
A gentle palm.

Koi Koi,
Float on back,
To your friends,
To tell the story,
Of a gentle giant.

This is based off of a unique experience i got to have. I did indeed pet a Koi fish once, it was interesting.

This is really lovely and descriptive. It paints a vivid picture in my mind and I think does a great job of describing a simple experience in a beautiful way. Well done, love :)
