Shard

Slowly my eyes open,
Letting in a glimpse,
Of the darkness that surrounds me.

How far can you fall,
I wonder,
Before you hit the ground.

Maybe there is no ground,
Which would mean?

That I don't exist,
Not really.

After all,
The light,
Has left me,
In darkness.

I am sad, but I know,
All I can do is move forward.

So I take a step,
And let the little shards of light,
Make steps,
Solid ground,
In a place of nothingness.
