Stone Prison

I awake to find myself on a cobbled road. The shop fronts are desolate, the sidewalks empty.
A ghost town.
I am once again under the veil, dreaming and drifting.
Though I am not sure this is a dream.
The sky darkens and I turn to find myself staring back at me.
Her long dark hair casts ominous shadows over her face, tracing the cruel grin she wears.
"What do you want with me?" I ask.
"Isn't it obvious? I want to kill you."
In a panic I turn to run, I know I cannot beat my demons here.
As I go to round the street corner the path fades into darkness.
I am left with only one path, towards her.
I start at a run, and I see her smile widen.
She has me trapped in her stone prison.
As I draw nearer I notice the moon high above the rooftops.
I stop in my tracks within arms reach of her.
She reaches out to grab me, to capture me, and then she is gone.
The walls of her world have crumbled into the sea around her.
And she is swallowed by the sea once more.
