Blindfold

Blindfold

A Poem by Eryn ♪

A woman was set upon a treacherous mountain path,
A blindfold set to her eyes,
She was told she would be free,
If she made it without the ability to see,
But if she failed to keep in check,
That blindfold upon her face,
She would be pushed from the path,
The one to freedom,
As she teetered along the face,
Of the cliff above the roaring waves,
Never once did she remove the binding,
When alas she did make it to the end,
The knife was swiftly brought across her throat,
"Now you are free",
Said the knight,
"Free from the troubles of you have face,
From the accusations and the lies,
Now you are free to sleep in peace."

It's sad and emotional for me, but its beautifully written and I think the subject is interesting. Don't some people say that true freedom is death?
