Soldier

A Poem by Amber Nicole

Through streets wide and narrow,
across oceans and mind.
Over rivers and valleys,
through conscience and mind.
I look out and see,
a Man standing there.
A lone man,
with no one to care.
For everyone is sleeping
or gone for the night.
I look around wondering
if anyone might.
With a bag under one arm
and a badge on the other,
with a face so sad
for the loss of another.
So here he is standing
to start a new life,
away from house and home
and into the night.
