Cliff's EdgeA Poem by SerpentineCrying for help, the words fall silent in the screaming wind
HERE I STAND UPON A CLIFF SO HIGH
BEHIND ME BECKONS THE WRONGS I HAVE OUTRUN THERE BELOW IS WHERE I SHALL LIE BEFORE ME LIES THE BROKEN PATH NONE CAN WALK UPON IF THERE WAS A WAY TO UNDO A CARE GIVEN TO THE PAIN OF MY HEART I WOULD THINK OF WAYS TO SAVE YOU FROM THE PAIN OF FEELING, IF ANY, THAT SHALL TEAR APART A STEP FORWARD BRINGS ME CLOSER A STEP BACK TAKES ME FROM THE CHOICE THE WIND AT MY BACK PUSHES ME TO FOREVER THE CHAINS OF INDECISION SHAKE OUT MY VOICE THE CARESS OF THE WIND ON MY FORM THE FEELING OF DUTY THAT STAY MY FEET THE SENSE OF FREEDOM HAS MY HEART WANTING TO PERFORM THE CRAVING TO DANCE UPON THE WIND WITH A NEW BEAT SHALL I TAKE THE PLUNGE? TURN NEVERMORE TO THE EDGE OR SHALL THIS FEELING BE EXPUNGED? THEN, HERE AND NOW I MAKE A PLEDGE LEAP NOT TILL THE END STRUGGLE AND FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL EVEN IF NARY A FRIEND USE THIS AS GROUNDS FOR A NEW TALE LIVE LAUGH LOVE FEEL I AM MORE A LIVE NOW THAN BEFORE THAT LAST STEP.
