cat in the cradle kept twice as high on the tree tops rocked
hopes he stays up on tip top kept twice as high as a tear drop rocked
the sky-line he's stittin so fly, he just might, he just might, he just might
break from the near-life and realize that there's new life and he just might he just might he just might he just might
take that dare! you cant tell me that you've been scared without telling me that you've been prepared and ready to take flight fall down, scratch out eyes, tell lies, by peace, sell mine, rip chew out and tear.you always seemed prepared,a face under all those lines of black eyes that told the windy leaves that you where scared. A blind crying kid with his arms in the breeze, Blankets on his knees, a stretch from everything that we've ever seen,
Yeah he's still got that gleam. It's in his eyes and he can make it through cause he's done it all before right? Live life in the lime-light, Climbing the starry night, His claws held too tight to the tree-trunks when he felt that he just might, reach the ground too hard when the breezes turned to crazy storms and he had no choice but to take more but I know if he let go he'd be floating above the clouds way up in the sunlight.
cat in the cradle kept twice as high on the tree tops rocked
hopes he stays up on tip top kept twice as high as a tear drop shocked
the spectators, they float by, they float by, they float by, they float by, break from the life on the sky-line and maybe you can come back down to earth, cat in the flowers catching field-mice, for what it's worth, it was always fine the way your limbs grew to me, Always thought that's the way beauty was supposed to be, always thought that's the way a love was supposed to be, supposed to be, And if your flowers are all gone, switch your seeds out with the dead plants. The ground's always there for the new crash land and the new chance for you to stick your hands down and pull a hand stand. Grip the ground and let the sky stay under your heals. Now tell me how that feels. You got your falling spot above your head and a goal at your feet kid, and it's fine because you know you land on your feet. Your gonna land on your feet. Let go and land on your feet.
