I Wish

           I Wish...

 

        I wish upon a star that I had more time with you.

        I wish I had the chance to correct all the wrong I did to you.

        From the bottom of my heart I wish I never had to say good-bye.

 

        I wish on those lonely nights you'd still be there.

        I wish that you would get to see the day that pigs fly.

        I wish that you never had to die.

 

        From the bottom of my heart I wish

        Every day I have a new wish as I ask myself what if.

 

        You were there when I needed you.

        You were always by my dad's side.

        Constantly looking out for danger I wouldn't have expected you to die.

 

        Not in the way that you did.

        Not in a way of pain and sorrow.

        Not in any way at all.

 

        I always thought you would die on angel's wings.

        You would fly to the sky in joyous days.

        I wish you didn't have to die.

 

        Now I'm here alone.

        I have nothing left to fear.

        You are gone and no matter how hard it is to accept I can no longer wish.

        I'm sorry the doctor's needle was your only release from pain.

        I'm sorry I couldn't help you in any other way.

        You are my brother, my best friend, and most of all, my dog.

        I wish you didn't have to die so alone or in so much pain.

        I wish now that you are in a better place.

        I accept these days as best as I can dedicating the things I do to your life that was in my hands.

 

      May angel's sing and doggy heaven ring.

      May your spirit soar to new level's with no more horrors.

Author's Note

This is for my dog. My best friend who I had to put down on October 20, 2010 at 11:00am.He died painfully and this has helped me release some of my emotions. Please tell me what you think. I hope you enjoy.
