Sharing the PainA Poem by [Mackenzie]This is about a friend of mine who has been diagnosed with leukemia.
I'd like to say I don't know you.
You mentioned the idea before, As a way to save me from all this. Like I said, that's what I'd like to say. But I can't. I just can't. Not when our lives are linked so tightly, And I feel your happiness, your sadness, your pain. I got your letter, and read the note at the bottom. So you cried while you wrote it, and I cried while I read it. Do you see what I mean now? I'm putting on a happy face for the rest of the world to see. But inside I'm breaking up As all your hurt floods into my body, for us to share. It's painful, but I'm okay with it. Because this way we'll always be together. Even if the cancer takes you away, too early, I'll always have a bit of you in my heart. This way I can love you for all eternity. © 2010 [Mackenzie]Reviews
