Life-Clock

Life-Clock

A Poem by [Mackenzie]

There's just no noise.
I know there should be;
Almost midnight,
But there's always a party
Somewhere.

All I can hear is the
tick, tick
of the Life-Clock,
counting down the seconds
I have left.

Looking at my own clock,
I watch the hands drift closer,
closer,
to the twelve at the top.

Then the bell chimes;
I sigh;
Only twenty-four hours left,
then the Life-Clock chimes its own tune.

My name's Mackenzie, but I'll sign my reviews as Mackeznei because it sounds oh-so-much-cooler. I'm thirteen years old, living in the wonderful country of New Zealand. Oh and I'm a guy now! Unofficial.. more..
