A Different StoryA Poem by [Mackenzie]The bandages she winds round her fingers Each morning, They tell a story. It contrasts with her own in drastic ways. "I accidentally picked up a knife the wrong way." The bandages stiffen her fingers, Till she cannot write, Cannot draw, Cannot do anything. The bandages tell a different story. I'm scared I'll hurt myself. They tell the story for her, Telling the story day in and day out For anyone who can bear to listen. © 2009 [Mackenzie]Author's Note
