Spring Rain

Spring Rain

A Poem by [Mackenzie]

The clouds above

Are dark with rain

Menacing gray.

I walk alone

Along the road

Not a soul passes by.

A drop falls heavily on my cheek.

The rain falls,

Cleansing my soul;

Making me carefree.

I whoop with joy

Startling a bird into flight.

I close my eyes;

Lift my face to the heavens;

Feel the water running down my skin;

Refreshingly cool.

The air crackles with approaching thunder.

When the first clap comes;

I scream with delight.

The spring rain.

A pure flood;

A thief of sorrow.
