Amaranthine

Amaranthine

A Poem by Seriana

Amaranthine

Does not the sun slip slowly from my southern sky?

What fragments of the day remain on whispered, wispy winds?

In thine eyes.

in my reflection

in this

the grand stage of graceful opulence

Lay a lingering, lofty longing,

buried beneath,

yet hanging forever free.

How softy the fluted murmur beckons.

reaching

caressing.

entwining

When at last the pinnacle has been met,

hovering upon the violet embers of our shadowed horizon,

When we reach there,

the summit,

the zenith of our enduring antiquities

Might we find, most assuredly, a golden promise of serenity?

I'm sorry; if my notion of what you're saying is correct (and I'm not AT ALL sure it is!), I'm afraid I don't agree. Better, I think, to enjoy the day to day imperfect moments with our flawed loved ones, than to wistfully long for some potentially perfect future "serenity", on the "horizon", at the "zenith".

Hey, have you heard the song Amarantine by Enya? Im not saying its like your poem, but it is about love, and your title made me think of it.

Such a deeply beautiful, profound write capturing so well the essence of all that is good and lasting in love... Everything here is elegant and tender. Amazing write!

I sure hope so. Very beautiful with a haunting quality. But doesn't the sun slip slowly into a western sky? Unless of course you live on the north pole. You ain't Mrs. Claus are you? :) Anyway, great write.

what can I say Amber... your work is mesmerizing... the simple beauty of nature is where we can find our love for ourselves and learn how to love someone completely... for the basics of life are the key... really truly a poem to get lost in over and over again.
