Field of Innocence

Field of Innocence

A Poem by Seriana
"

For my dearest brother....memories of childhood, less we forget in the hustle and bustle of the here and now. :)

"

Field of Innocence

I remember a time of innocence and rhyme,

when delightful laughter permeated the air,

enveloping us, playfully…

Those were the days of innocence

I remember when scraped knees and muddy waters

were all we needed to be seen

as one, with the meshing of our surroundings…

Those days belonged to.us

I remember when not a care stifled the pungent air

never a pressure, nor wrong-doing

we floated through our child-like sky

Our days blending with the night

I remember when tears faded with mother’s kiss

making our troubles disappear in a moment

She, our umbrella for life’s rain…

Drifting through our forgotten days

If ever there was a time…

A time where we ran as carefree as the autumn breeze,

when harmony spiraled through our empty space

and nothing, save time, stood in our path

Twas then, in our simplicity of yesterday

that every moment became a potential memory

Filling our days with the bliss of innocence….

Wow Amber you really captured the pure essence of being a kid enjoying nothing but the sights and sounds of nature in amazement... Truly your beautiful words speak to the inner child and make me giggle thinking bout those feelings from long ago. Ahhh to be young again, but then again it seems todays kids grw up to fast and will never know the wonders we felt as long.

Oh, this is complete serenity and sweetness, m'dear. The innocence of an endless summer. [the photo sets the perfect tone] Beautifully nostalgic, evoking scenes for the reader's own recollections ~ fine writing that does that. Truly. Gosh, I have a younger brother who I adore absolutely without reservation . . . maybe I should write him.

Thank you for this gentle reminder. You're a peach. ;-)

Wow! What a beautiful piece of writing. It is really very much personal yet so deep and powerful.
Also, it reminded me of that song "Field of Innocence" By Evanescence!

A true testament to the love, laugh, and pleasure filled moments of childhood. Not one word or thought out of place; nor an empty space in need of another one. A truly complete poem graced with sincerity and life.

Excellent presentation.

I breathed this in deeply, sis... Starting with the precious image... Each line, so beautiful (so peaceful)... I remember those days... wish I could return... long for the simple joys... You take us back, and for a moment I am free... Thank you, sissy... I needed this one so much!
