Optical Dispersion

Optical Dispersion

A Poem by Seriana

Optical Dispersion

In the cavernless expanse of space

A beam of light races across eternity

Coursing through the vague and certain, alike

Obscure streams fleeing at atrocious speeds,

they rise on crested waves

As photons collide,

bending to and fro, magnetically

Light shifts on a perpetual axial spiral,

and presses onas oblivion in the dark

Even further, ever deeper into the abyss of time

Light swells around radiating orbs

Continuing on, crossing the void of darkness

Until the genesis of infinity shines, ultimately.

And light reaches its final place of change

illuminating all which lies before it,

refracting around the wholeness of empty space

A wonderfully complex friend of mine challenged me to write a piece about light. And I could not use any emotion. Rather, the piece had to sound very non-humanistic. I am not sure if I achieved this, although I tried my best. Twas definitely a difficult challenge.

Incredible! You met the challenge wonderfully well, although I was touched by it, so maybe there was emotion there somewhere. However, you didn't embroider facts or energy, just went for it and went for it brilliantly.

Somehow you can make emotionless, non-humanistic poetry sound deeply beautiful! You are Spock (just kidding!). Amazing writing!

Wow! Ya done good, sista! Though I think ya got "spoofed!" [in light years, maybe]. For light IS emotion [at least in my little pin head]. This piece is definitely scientific ~ filled with method and principle explaining the behavior of beams and shafts and shifts . . . it literally s.i.n.g.s. with energy, connection ~ joy!

In my opinion? Ya just can't take the emotion outa the girl! Ye failed miserably, lass. Thank GOD!

A fine piece!

I think you met the challenge perfectly. It's like flipping on a light switch and then watching everything go in slow motion. Very cool.

You bring out even the beauty of a simple light beam with such easy... your words soft as velvet with great intellectual amazement... Impressive you are in your creativity and thinking.
