Lunar Rising

Lunar Rising

A Poem by Seriana

Lunar rising

as the moon shines

perpendicular to the sun

so, too, is it between me and you

in the rage of a southern night

when thunder cracks a defying sound

and we, together, hit the ground

priceless for pleasure

we trek our way through limited novelties

with desire for hire

in your heart

not mine

it clashes with this time

the twisted logic

and simple reality

of being purely carefree

the momentary flash

of passion's soulmate

unspoken in verbal touches

to revel in one

last time

less we forget the meshing

of one intotoo

the yang and yin of our

when the moon shines bright

and sight fades from your light

snuffed are we in smoldering ashes

and the dust of our fragrant dreams

clings to silent, sticky walls

a moon shadow hoovers

through stained glass

spilling smudged reflections at last

forever reaching

tendrils extending

always lingering

one last time

for another moonrise

I'm gonna comment on this poem for its structure...to me this is exemplary of the transition between your fantasy writing and your expression of your vision. As such these metaphors describe leaving the illusory way of life, and you handle this with flair. What excites me is the notion of reading your insights on the other side. That is, I look forward to a poem about your reality, your truth and vision having chosen to leave denial. What does a Faerie Princess do in real life?
This poem also suggests that you know this place all too well. I'm so excited about where your writing will go next!

Do they have like trending pieces on the Cafe? How is this not one?
Ok... As I read this... Let me settle down...
It's possible for a poem to be TOO good... As I read this, I wanted to stop halfway through and had to force myself to keep reading. Why? Because it was dreadful? No. Because it was so good I wanted to jump down here and go off with praise!
Perpendicular to the sun...,limited novelties... Of one into...too! Do you ever get so worked up reading something that you have to catch your breath? I did. I was envious, proud of you, and angry at this fool, this blind manwho could create this piece by proxy.
I don't know what I was "supposed" to feel, think, take from this, but what I am definitely doing is making sure I have a hard copy of this so I don't have to rely on the flow of electrons to read it again.
Thank you very much for pointing me in the right direction!

Yes, beautiful structure, wish more people would present their works in such a way. You bleed a sweet serenade of passion throughout the entire write. I'm really big on descriptions, and yours are gorgeous here... It was just so dreamy.

Oh I love the correlation you make between the moon and love from the beginning of a relationship to its decline...

a moon shadow hoovers
through stained glass

this part I love as the memories haunt you in your dreams... truly amazing but then again you are truly gifted.
