Enchanted Rock

Enchanted Rock

A Poem by Seriana
"

I went hiking to this place called Enchanted Rock, and was able to see the morning sunrise. It was stunning and beautiful. I simply had to write about it. :)

"

Enchanted Rock

There…

upon the western sky did I gaze

with the wind in my hair,

enchantment beneath my seat,

and Heaven caressing the essence of the day

The sound of silence slowly blew through my mind

when Aurora’s breathe caught suddenly in my throat,

my heart…

sighing in peaceful understanding

as the solar ascension adorned the sky before me

Delightful shades of autumn painted the forest below

a brisk zephyr of time twirled through me

the whispered voice of paradise

swaying on the trail of a cascading gust

and I…

surrendered my heart to the morning breeze

wafting autumn’s scent through the gallery of my mind

The waves of life crested on the horizon

a gleaming chandelier completing the alluring skyline

resonating life through all that could be seen,

echoing its breath with a gentle touch

and daybreak’s warming gleam

Fluttering promises sailed the skyward seas

lulling my spirit to tranquil peace

and I….

in silent morning reverie

wept at the glorious vision before me

as I looked upon serenity’s sunrise

while sitting atop the summit of sturdy Enchanted Rock

If you've seen in my photos, I'm a wilderness camping fool. God's greatness is never more passionate than alone in the wilderness watching the scenes played out before you in slow motion. No great monolith or edifice of man can even walk the same ground with His beauty, free to us all. I'm glad you get to see what is beauty to me, that your eyes are opened. Enjoy.

There is nothing more beautiful and purifying than facing nature in her glory. I'm a backpacker and the frosty mornings where nature is at her finest - refreshed from a long night - is the best gift I could imagine. You captured the incredible beauty of a Nature's landscape. I felt as if I was standing next to you, taking in the gift. Beautiful, girl.

Beautiful job. YOu should go out and be in nature even more, i am sure mother nature would thank you writing so gloriously about her. plus, it's a treat for us to read too. i know i don't get out much, or go on vacations, so this was like my vacation. ha ha. i just wish washington wasn't so rainy in the winter, then we could go out and enjoy it more (and i certainly don't want to write a poem about rain! ha ha.)

anyway, off topic. overall, great great job. i loved the description here, and I feel you painted a picture of this beautiful Enchanted Rock. Where is it, by the way? I want to go now. lol

I'm assuming you are talking about the Enchanted Rock in Texas? It is a beautiful place and you have done it justice in your poem. I love it there. I haven't been in over 16 years since I have moved out of the state, but before that I went quite often. Kudos on the poem.
