LuminescenceA Poem by Seriana
Luminescence I glanced skyward soaking in the twinkling’s of the night So bright did they shine so penetrating was their light that I sought to capture them and plant them in my sight So I reached and pleaded and struggled in flight to secure them all and make them my prize
Then… A quickness flashed before my eyes and trailed away in a scattering of cries But I.. I followed it seeking the bright light Desiring it more than the rest So much that soon I forget everything else before me everything but the brightness of the light
So... I chased and followed begged ‘til I was hollowed trailing always one step behind. The light, it taunted me teasing with delight and then…. It was gone far from my sight it left me alone in the night
And I… Stood in silence glancing awkwardly skyward again, in wonder at my night a haze formed hiding the knight’s shine closing my eyes, I sighed and listened to the night breath when my eyes did open and my sight was renewed The light I had loved was removed from the sky
But… gone it was not for in the fury of my desire a fervent glow so bright did shine like diamonds sparkling smoothly on trickling river waters from shadows in mirrored reflections and my light… shone purely from within the depths of me © 2009 SerianaReviews
