Or, why do we allow the chase to happen in the first place? Social media, yes to include poetry sites, has changed the dynamic of everything I think. Thise who would have never formed a blind friendship do so now based on claimed evidence that who they are facing (behind a screen) is who they say they are and accepting whole heartedly that intentions are the gospel truth. Hmmm, seems I have gone of on a bit of a tangent. Oh well...your poem feels real and feels today and is wonderfully delivered. Nice one Seriana.

You so deeply explore the paradox of modern connections, questioning the depth and authenticity of relationships we often overvalue. Through clear observations about co-workers and acquaintances, you critique how easily we assign meaning to fleeting interactions—only to feel disappointed when these connections fall short of true friendship... of more. Is there some disillusionment with superficial bonds? Are genuine connections so rare in a world where "hanging out" and digital interactions substitute real presence? Why do we chase connections that barely touch the surface of who we are? Why indeed..
This is thoughtful, and clearly very contemporary; in terms of the societal and social concerns which it raises. In particular, the insidious ways by which social media has confused how human beings interact with one another. As the description states accurately, this is a summary regarding her "reflections on connections". I have personal experience with much of what she emphasised here, other than that reference to "road rage"; since I rely upon public transport instead. Having said that, interactions on the public transport network could fuel a fresh piece of writing as a sub-topic.? Thanks for putting this up, and I accept "read requests" on this site too. Best wishes.

Danger lurks even in poetry - a gently written soul for the most. We wonder, we trust, we assume and then, regret, realising that time and distance negates and nullifies what seems right but is anything but. Oh woe is me and you and you and .. Luck to the players who forgets, 'be kind to those you meet as you step higher and higher on the ladder because... sure as heck you could meet them when you slip down!'
'We make these connections in life,
these “acquaintanceships” of sorts...
We give some more credit than they are due,
then complain when the interest is too high for them to repay...'
Sadly true!

'...in the regularity of what used to be our real lives?...'
This poem brings the beauty of old days when we used to meet our people in person, hug them wholeheartedly, and build relations in a slow and steady way. The subject, thoughts, and the deliverance are truly beautiful!
