Aimless

Aimless 

sitting here in time-out, 

pretending that I’m doing something meaningful, 

productive. 

As if writing poetry has no meaning? 

What of the extra box of kitty litter I received from Amazon? 

I don’t even have a cat,  

but if I did, I’d call her Mitzi. 

It’d be a “her”, of course. 

Even my plants are female... 

Such random sentiments to speculate over, 

Thoughts leading to things... 

What am I to do with all the collection of things acquired over the years that don’t match? 

Don’t go together any more than you and I did? 

I spy with my little eye the bags of chips stacked in a line,  

half askew and falling over; 

and I lost my favorite green ink pen, 

The gel kind that rolls smoothly, 

Only this one had flaws. 

It skipped and skidded a little with the pressure of a push. 

But it was still my favorite.

Free Kitty Litter from Amazon is not something everyone gets to experience no matter what they name their cat, that is something special. : )

I can be much the same way only I tend to write a lot of sensual and passionate poems but every once in awhile I will have something slightly funny or lighthearted and it’s a nice change
