Hush

Hush

A Poem by Seriana

Hush

I didn't know what to say today.

My mind felt paralyzed...exhaustively blushed.

I wasn’t even sure if I was real anymore.

Maybe,

maybe I was a figment of my very own imagination?

A splendid,

wondrous creation and expression...

If my mind would just move again so I could think,

though,

not thinking before I speak.

yet...

today I am stilled to quiet,

a silent, soft echo seen in a crisp, autumn breeze.

I tried writing a beautiful poem.

I tried sharing the words that would not come,

to get them out of my head.

They felt heavy there,

these silly words,

their weight beyond my reach.

But they were stuck.

Like stubborn droplets of rain lodged up inside stormy clouds,

drooping with swollen tears awaiting their release.

So.

I sat.

I sat in the hushed moment again,

watching the remains of the day,

as the rainbow-painted sky smeared into the harvest night,

the purling of crickets threatening my dreamy sleep.

I like how accessible the language is here. There's no frills, and sometimes I think poems can become bogged down by that.

There's something very real and dare I say, vulnerable about this piece. It connects on many different levels and I really appreciate that about it.

Thank you for sharing this, I enjoyed the read very much.

It is in those quiet moments that I truly believe life comes into focus more clearly and we are able to process the good and the bad in a much easier way. Love how this moved and ended.

Appreciate you again, Will!
Sometimes we just need to be still. Take time to be quiet and give the brain a rest, and maybe give the eyes a treat. Watching the remains of the day. How beautiful that turned out to be Seriana. Enjoyed very much.

Thank you Miss Chris! Always happy to see your reviews. Glad you enjoyed.
Wow. It's difficult to talk after thinking. Words overflow from mind an unknown response. Good work. Enjoyed this beautiful poem ☺️
