Indeed, there is wisdom in letting go of what we want to clutch on to, hold on to ourselves. In doing that we suffocate its beauty and shorten its intended lifespan. This poem is beautiful in its thought and conception and makes us look within and question why is it that we don't want to let go? The concluding lines fill me with a happy satisfaction and a resolve to let go of what's precious to me, to let it live and thrive. Thank you for sharing such beauty.

Interestingly philosophical offering here. The speaker describes a delicate filament that is grasped and held onto despite the wind. After a while the speaker realizes it is best to let go and does so. If the grip had been maintained, the filament would have been destroyed. This is an excellent metaphor for life and anything within it that we must struggle to keep a grip on. The grip seems like the right thing to do, but it is the willingness to release that ends the pain.

Thank you John. What a kind review. Appreciate you as always!
it just makes sense sometimes when that filament of love gets tangled...
and we need to free it, let it float away to somewhere brand new.
who knows, it could find its way back.

Exactly, j. Thank you for your comments. They mean more than you know. :)
There are many threads in life, tiny threads, thick threads, red and yellow threads that keep us connected to people or items that we cherish or disconnected if they break somewhere along the way. This poem speaks to me, I have used the term threads before and sadly, some have broken along the way and fell just out of reach, though many remain intact and I still to this day hold on tight. Loved this Seriana. Such a beautiful and free feeling poem.

You are generous, and understanding. So many threads just as you described. Appreciate you!!
Gracefully written Seriana.
“Knowing that it will (break) becomes the wisdom of…
knowing when to let go.
So I do.
Let go,
and it floats away on a breeze,
whole and intact,
to land somewhere brand-new.”
Beautiful line just touched the heart. New year’s joyous greetings to you..

Your words are a beautiful journey... carrying us on this current... the past clinging to us... yet the current moving us into the now... into the not yet. How I long to see that hope that it will be bring.
