Spirit SeasonA Poem by SerianaPhoto courtesy of "https://ciro-marchetti.pixels.com/featured/tree-house-ciro-marchetti.html". No copyright infringement is intended.Spirit Season The gnomes stand at
attention, guarding the faux flames in the place of coals and
embers that aren’t really there… But the tree is, there. All decorated in reds and
whites with little green twinkle lights, bare naked at the base with
snow bundles wrapped ‘twixt its twisted stem. Another tree is here, too. Next down, shimmering tips of greens,
red, and blues, smaller, with snowy flakes and puffy
string hearts. Together, they stand in a strumming forest, Guardians to the gnomes, aligned by height, tallest to shortest, then
back again, tall they stand still, reaching in silent stretch, providing protection for the
sanctity of home, amidst the backdrop of a
spirit lit mantle.
