Forbearance

Forbearance

A Poem by Seriana

Forbearance…

Waiting…

in the hush of humming fans

and whirling birds.

A clunk-clunk in the distant distance,

a swish-whiz of clankety cars in a yo-yo cadence of

gun it,

speed up,

and

Slow

down….

Stillness in waiting.

patience of a virtuoso…

Quiet softly builds a nocturnal crescendo

of podium sound to flutter within.

“Where hath mine heart gone?”

…sayeth a cartooned bubble floating above.

Dissonant the chords that tie it back

like this morning’s worn barrette,

sloppy and aloof.

It waits.

It waits.

It always waits….

As for the repair man who never comes.

galloping to a luscious landscape,

as keys paint a white, black horizon melody.

Of this,

and of that,

(defeated unease...)

first faster,

then subtle slowing,

mellifluously,

swinging in low,

to land in exclusive wait…

At this exquisite black-tie affair.

Start to finish and in between you have set the place for that title word.. the change of key, the decibels..changes of mood.. and importantly ~ emotions. You raise the bar when it comes to feeling how it could and should be.. how differences can be set.. and so finely set into words.

Brilliant thinking put to twenty six letters and an incredible lay out d for the viewer/reader/friend.

Wonderful to have these two new pieces.. will explore for more.. :) Thank you, keep safe.

Your poetry is as soft as Dickenson. This peice rolls like gentle hills giving way to more beauty at each crest.
I was particularly struck by the almost serendipitously placed rhyming that helped the meter cascade.

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank YOU, dear friend for your kind words. Irony of your comparison there...I was JUST reading Dick.. read more
Everything moves in such a soft cadence, like morning mists, when eyes are still learning to see again. There is something so beautiful about learning the wonders of waiting... of letting the world slow down again. Every day seems so rushed anymore. Thank you for this pause.

Dearest...your reviews are poetry themselves. Thank you. Again and again for your unending support.
