Vade Mecum

I came across something in my mind tonight.

I wanted to speak the words,

tell you of my universe in thoughts and soft feelings,

simply the way eye saw you.

Words aren’t your language,

though.

You couldn’t process them off my lips,

you wouldn’t see them.

You only see me,

here,

in front of you (and behind)…

But…

I saw you in the words of my mouth,

felt you in the thoughts of my sentences scrolling in twirls across the weightless pages of my mind.

Instead of speaking,

instead of telling,

I wrote you down,

Here.

In flowing, delicate words.

So your mind could see what I knew to be…

I wrote YOU in to the invisible pages,

jotted you down effortlessly,

scrolled through you into the reality of my words…
