Your Name

Your Name

A Poem by May Fosnes

There is a Regina Spekor song

“Thought I’d cry for you forever,

but I couldn’t,

so I didn’t”

I never thought I would forget your name.

Days pass by and people do too;

But, a name is a name and the spelling the same.

I never thought I would forget your name.

But, feelings change even when the spelling's the same.

“Thought I’d cry for you forever,

now I can’t even remember what your ears look like”

Did I ever know what they looked like?
They probably haven't changed.

I never thought I would forget.
