Struggle

Struggle

A Poem by Serena Monteleone

Lay my head under the water,

Drench me in the flooded ocean,

and slowly engulf the rest of me,

So I can feel the cool water hug my body.

Let me struggle and gasp for air,

And maybe then I’ll feel more free than I do now.

Great Work! The second and third lines are good enough to bring the suicidal tendencies.

Great paradox; freedom from drowning. How can such thing bring freedom, one may think.. A suicidal person may ponder that death itself is a liberation from life. Well-written, Serena. :x
