Try againA Poem by Serena MonteleoneWinter give you a cool kiss goodbye. As summer moves in, Hold on to the memories, They’re melting as fast as a snowflake- Dripping down the window, Falling to the ground, Gone in a second. Crying an ocean of tears. Impossible to swim to the bottom its so deep. Making breathing impossible. You struggle. The water is waving goodbye, You’ll be out soon. Destined to be successful, But lacking motivation. Dreaming of a bright future, But stuck in the same spot. Impossible to crawl out of the hole you’re stuck in. Your voice says happy, But your eyes say pain. Wondering what could be going on inside your head. Thinking of what happens when you aren’t around. Questioning, Rethinking. When all else fails what do you do? Nothing. Nothing to do. Try again. Smiling with every heartbeat. Missing the promises of yesterday. Feeling remorseful. I am the light and you are the storm. Dripping with affection. But i’m hiding, Because with that affection I become weak. My strength diminishes and I retell the tale of heartbreak. Reliving every crushing moment. Every solemn breath, Pulling the weight of the restriction around. Guilt is building up. I’m wishing for a way to turn back the clock. No regrets, Just wishes for the past.© 2013 Serena MonteleoneReviews
