overthinkingA Poem by S. S. AllenFor the overly anxious
Impulses released in tiny capsules
Synapses reaching for each other. Like fingers intertwining. Neurons firing off. As the rifle may speak And colliding transmitters. Hitting the next dendritic finger. Like Babe Ruth on a base; Toss me consolidation in my sleep. Even so, my mind, Decodes the message. And sends me into overdrive. Positive feedback, A continuous stimulus. That lasts for hours. © 2017 S. S. Allen |
