Modern Day Plato

Modern Day Plato

A Poem by S. S. Allen

I reckon as we lie under the canvas sky.
Each a'body parallel to the other.
When you ask me what I want to be.
"A writer, you know...", I confess my desiderare.
But you grin so purposely.
And your eyes reify my passion,
Because you knew at the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet.
