Letting go

Letting go

A Poem by S. S. Allen

Where are you, when I need you the most?

When my fears and insecurities threaten to consume me?

As if they haven’t already.

You walked into my life,

And stepped right out.

Should I hold on?

We are in different times.

Different space.

Different lives.

But then sometimes you show up.

I try not to act surprised.

Then I think about us.

That because of my fears,

Everything that I am.

I can’t be with you.

This is great. What understanding to be able to sum up so many desirous relationships that founder at the edges.
