His story

His story

A Poem by S. S. Allen

I know it now, his story.

How he had been adopted.

Broken.

He had not found love.

Finite Love.

He’s not perfect.

But he’s trying to be.

I just want him to try harder.

For me.

I adore his honesty

He’s so different.

But it’s the idea of him.

The idea of falling in love with him.

The idea…that's what is so wrong.

I have to give him up.

I have to let him go.

He deserves someone who won’t toy around with his heart.

All his life he’s known hurt and pain,

So immune to it.

I must let him go, so he can be free.

For hurt is a thing that travels with me.

True love is letting go and seeing them return of their own free will.
This is lovely.
Well penned Suri.
